I attended my first ONE Musicfest last weekend with two friends. And though I was eager to hear the likes of Jazmine Sullivan, Ice Cube, Erykah Badu, and the entire Dungeon Family, I was lowkey psyched to see what food trucks were going to be there.
Between my friends and I, we hit up the following five trucks:
Atlanta Seafood Company
This truck was the only one I was familiar with since they stopped by Tech Square earlier this year. My friends and I decided to grab dinner near the end of the Erykah Badu performance so we would be ready to see the Dungeon Family show. However, towards the end of the night, most trucks had long lines thus making them run out of food early.
Not Atlanta Seafood Company though. They had three plates available: fried shrimp & fries, fried wings & fries, and a combo. For $15, my fried shrimp and crinkle fries were ev.ery.thing.to.me.
Bento Bus
Two of my friends grabbed chicken teriyaki bowls from the Bento Bus, which touted their fresh Japanese cuisine. The bowls looked very filling and they both said that they enjoyed it.
Cravings Express
Because I don’t eat chicken and I didn’t want something too heavy before dinner, I grabbed a shrimp kabob from Cravings Express. This truck was a little busy so there was a wait to get the food after placing my order. The shrimp was seasoned very well, but the food was a little bit expensive ($10) for the amount you received.
King of Pops
This is the only photo I forgot to take (sorry). My friend and I ventured out and found a King of Pops stand in the middle of several vendors. For $3, you could select from 5 popsicle flavors. I chose the sweet tea and lemonade (RIP Arnold) popsicle and was not disappointed.
Vintage Frozen Custard
Everything in me wanted to succumb to the sweet tooth craving that I always have, but I didn’t. My best friend did, though. When we arrived, she ordered a $8 sundae from Vintage Frozen Custard. I tried a little bit and it was good.
Overall, it was lit. The music was good, the food was good, and I met my step goal for the day. In hindsight, I can’t complain too much. I can’t wait for next year!
