Lunch at The Sushi Machine

I noticed this place on my way home from work one day. I made a mental note to research it on Yelp, but quickly forgot during the commute.

About two weeks later, I remembered that place I drove past and finally did my due diligence. Yelp showed me a lot of pictures of sushi burritos. This piqued my interest. I decided to make a trip during lunch.

I arrived around 12:30 or so. The parking lot was on the empty side. I assumed people weren’t aware of the restaurant as it had only been open for a month.

It’s on the second floor of the shopping center, so I took the stairs and made my way inside. There were about two parties that were almost done with their meals by the time I arrived. I was immediately greeted and seated.

The first thing I noticed was the size of the restaurant. It’s bigger than I would’ve imagined. There is a decently-sized front porch for those that want to sit outside. However, if you’re like me, you’ll prefer to sit inside. There appeared to be a separate room for private parties. This room also had a big projector screen so I assume it could double as the karaoke room. The restaurant also has a bar, multiple tables and booths spread throughout.

I also noticed the decor. There were a lot of signs that screamed home decor from Kirkland’s or Hobby Lobby, but I digress. I didn’t come here for the interior, I came here for the food.

I perused the menu several times — they have a lot to offer so I got lost a little bit. Think of 1/2 the size of the menu from the Cheesecake Factory. Anywho, the lunch menu distracted me a bit and after I realized I couldn’t find the sushi burrito in the menu, I decided to just get two sushi rolls instead.

My ginger salad came out immediately and about five minutes later, my unagi roll and spicy tuna roll arrived. Sushi is hard to screw up so I almost devoured the entire plate.

I believe my entire trip to The Sushi Machine took 35 minutes. I could’ve shaved off maybe another 5-7 minutes if I knew what I wanted immediately. This was good to note as I often run errands during my lunch break.

Overall, the lunch was good. The service was great. I was in and out and left full. I’ll be back.
