The Peachtree Cafe: It’s Worth the Wait

I was introduced to this place last September. I randomly found it on Google and picked up a corned beef hash and scrambled eggs plate to go. Oh, and a chai latte.

I went back home to watch the Falcons game (back when we were winning) and ate my breakfast. This was actually good, I thought.

I was surprised because this place is down the street from my church and the food was actually decent. How had I missed it this whole time?

Since then, it’s become one of my weekend breakfast spots. If I’m in a breakfast mood, I’ll order waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon.

The bacon is perfectly crispy with a little taste of the fat. That’s how I prefer my pork. The waffle is airy with a hint of sweetness. And it’s not just the powdered sugar lightly dusted over either. Also, their fall/winter sweet potato waffle is the best sweet potato-infused dish I’ve had, too.

If I arrive during the early afternoon, I order the patty melt with fries.

My only gripe is that I would prefer about 6 more french fries, but that’s because I love fries. The patty melt is reminiscent of the good, meaty patty melt I would eat during my freshman and sophomore years of college. The ground beef is seasoned properly, too, which can make or break a good burger.

If you like IHOP, you’ll like The Peachtree Cafe. What makes this place better, though, is the family-owned, local vibe this place exudes. The owner will sit down and talk to you while you eat and even take your order if the restaurant is busy. If you go before 1:00 pm, this place will be busy. After Thanksgiving, I was told that there were so many people there that created an hour + wait that expanded outside the door. Bruh. I personally don’t believe in waiting for food, but I get it. It’s good stuff.

If you live within a 15 mile radius of downtown Lawrenceville, make a trip to stop into The Peachtree Cafe. To convince you to do so, I’m giving away a $20 gift card to The Peachtree Cafe on Facebook. You can enter to win there or below. Contest begins on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 12:00 am EST and ends Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 12:00 am EST. Good luck!

I’m gonna need the owner not to sit down and talk to me tho, cause strangers.
